Terms of Service

The booking, cancellation and service terms for appointments with Hair by Rachel Braids.

Effective date: November 2, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to appointments and services booked with Hair by Rachel Braids ("Rachel", "we", "us") and to your use of this website. By booking an appointment, sending a request through this website, buying from our online shop, or using our services, you agree to these Terms. Deposits, refunds and returns are covered by our Refund Policy. Please read them before you book or order.

1. About us

Hair by Rachel Braids is a hair braiding business in San Antonio, Texas, offering braids, twists, locs, cornrows, kids' styles, wig installs and makeup. Services are by appointment only. Contact: nseyakayembe0@gmail.com or call, text or WhatsApp +1 (726) 241-4770.

2. Booking an appointment

Appointments can be requested through the Book Now form, WhatsApp, phone or email.
A request is not a confirmed appointment. Your appointment is confirmed only when Rachel confirms the date, time and price with you directly.
Please give accurate details about the style, size and length you want, so enough time can be reserved.
The exact service address is shared once your appointment is confirmed.
Rachel may decline or reschedule any booking at her discretion.

3. Prices and payment

Prices on this website are starting prices. The final price depends on the size, length, density, complexity and add-ons of your style, and is confirmed before your appointment.
Changes you request on the day (for example a smaller size or longer length) may change the price.
Prices may change at any time, but the price confirmed for your booking will be honored.
Payment is due when your service is complete, using a payment method agreed at booking.
If your style includes braiding hair from us, the cost of the hair is included in the confirmed price unless agreed otherwise.

4. Deposits

A deposit may be required to secure your appointment. If a deposit applies, the amount and how to pay it will be confirmed when you book. Deposits are applied to your total on the day of your appointment and are non-refundable, except where Rachel cancels the appointment.

5. Cancellations and rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours' notice by WhatsApp, text or phone.
With at least 48 hours' notice, you may reschedule once and keep your deposit toward the new date.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, and missed appointments (no-shows), lose any deposit paid. Repeated no-shows may mean we are unable to book you again.
If Rachel needs to cancel or reschedule, she will contact you as early as possible and offer a new date or refund your deposit.

6. Arriving late

Please arrive on time, as many styles take several hours. There is a 15-minute grace period. After that, your appointment may need to be shortened, changed to a simpler style, or rescheduled, and a missed appointment may be treated as a late cancellation.

7. Preparing your hair

Unless you have booked a wash service, arrive with your hair washed, conditioned, fully detangled and completely dry.
Please avoid heavy oils or products on the day of your appointment.
If your hair is not prepared, Rachel may charge for extra preparation time, adjust the service, or reschedule your appointment.

8. Braiding hair and products

Ask what is included for your style when you book. If you bring your own braiding hair, please bring the correct type, color and amount as agreed. We are not responsible for the quality or results of hair or products supplied by the client.

9. Appointments for children

Appointments for anyone under 18 must be booked by a parent or legal guardian.
A parent or guardian must be reachable during the appointment and must give consent for the service.
For a child's comfort and safety, Rachel may pause or stop a service if the child is in distress.

10. Health, allergies and comfort

Tell Rachel before your appointment about any scalp conditions, sensitivity, hair loss, recent chemical treatments, allergies (including to synthetic hair or products) or medical conditions that could affect your service.
Tell Rachel right away if anything feels too tight or uncomfortable during your service, so it can be adjusted.
Rachel may decline or modify a service if she believes it could harm your hair or scalp.
Results vary with each person's hair type, health and aftercare. We cannot guarantee how long a style will last.

11. Aftercare

You are responsible for caring for your style after your appointment. Follow the aftercare advice Rachel gives you, and do not keep protective styles in longer than recommended. Removing a style too late can damage your natural hair.

12. Satisfaction and adjustments

Please check your style before you leave and mention any concerns so they can be fixed on the spot. If an issue caused by our work (such as loose or uneven braids) appears within 3 days of your appointment, contact Rachel and she will offer to fix it at no charge. Because services are personal and time-based, completed services are not refundable. Issues caused by aftercare, outside products or wear and tear are not covered. 13. Photos and social media

Rachel may photograph finished styles to show her work on this website and social media. You may say no at any time, and photos of children are only shared with a parent or guardian's permission. If you would like a photo of you removed, contact us and we will remove it.

14. Guests and conduct

Please do not bring extra guests to your appointment unless agreed in advance.
We expect respectful behavior from all clients. Rachel may end a service, without refund, if a client is abusive, unsafe or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

15. Use of this website

This website, including its text, design and photos of Rachel's work, is owned by Hair by Rachel Braids or used with permission. Please do not copy or reuse it without permission.
Some service photos show example styles and are labeled as such. The Gallery shows Rachel's own work.
We try to keep information on this website accurate and up to date, but prices, availability and details may change.
This website links to services run by others, such as WhatsApp and Google Maps. We are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

16. Your information

How we collect and use your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hair by Rachel Braids is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from our services or this website. Our total liability for any claim relating to a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Bexar County, Texas. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern directly.
